BCRF recibe el Premio Latinoamericano a la Investigación en Cáncer

El Premio Latinoamericano a la Investigación en Cáncer reconoce al individuo o Institución que haya demostrado una acción ejemplar para el progreso y el desarrollo de la investigación independiente en cáncer en la región. En este caso y por primera vez se otorgó a la Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF, USA).
El Premio ha sido otorgado por la Federación Latinoamericana de Mastologia (FLAM), la Red de Institutos Nacionales de Cancer de Latinoamerica (RINC) junto a SLACOM.
El acto de entrega se realizó durante el Congreso de la Sociedad Americana de Oncologia (ASCO) , durante la Reunión de Líderes Mundiales. El Dr. Larry Norton recibió el premio en nombre de BCRF, estando presentes el Presidente de ASCO, la representante de FLAM Dra. Paula Escobar y la representante de RINC Dra. Lucia Delgado y directivos de SLACOM.
BCRF bestowed with the Latin American Award for Cancer Research
The Latin American Award for Cancer Research recognizes the individual or Institution that has demonstrated an exemplary action for the progress and development of independent cancer research in the region. In this case and for the first time it was awarded to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF, USA).
The Award has been granted by the Latin American Federation of Mastology (FLAM), the Network of National Institutes of Cancer of Latin America (RINC) with SLACOM.
The award ceremony was made during the Congress of the American Society of Oncology (ASCO), in the space of the Meeting of World Leaders. Dr. Larry Norton received the award on behalf of BCRF, with the presence of the President of ASCO, the representatives of FLAM Dr. Paula Escobar, the representative of RINC Dr. Lucia Delgado and directors of SLACOM.

Dr. Carlos Vallejos Sologuren, oncological leader of Peru and Latin America and a founding member of SLACOM, has recently presented his book of almost 700 pages on the specialty. He was accompanied by a recognized team of experts in the Editorial Committee constituted by Drs. Jorge Leon, Alfredo Aguilar, Luis Mas, Henry Gomez, Silvia Neciosup and Carlos Castañeda.

El Dr. Eduardo Cazap fue reconocido por la Universidad de Harvard, Dana Farber Cancer Center y la Cumbre de Salud Global con el Premio al Liderazgo Distinguido por su trayectoria internacional y su colaboración a la mejora del control del cáncer en el África. El mismo le fue entregado el 26 de Mayo en la Escuela de Medicina, Boston, USA.
Distinguished Leadership Award from Harvard University
Dr. Eduardo Cazap was recognized by Harvard University, Dana Farber Cancer Center and the Global Health Summit with the Distinguished Leadership Award for his international career and his collaboration to improve cancer control in Africa. It was awarded on May 26 at the School of Medicine, Boston, USA.

Lanzamiento - Asociado Postdoctoral en Oncologia Global en la Universidad de Miami

Launching - Postdoctoral Associate in Global Oncology at the University of Miami
We are pleased to share the launching of a new position, the Postdoctoral Associate in Global Oncology at the Miller School of Medicine at the University of Miami (UM). This position is specifically for a Latin American doctor and will last for a period of one year at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center located at UM. The purpose of this new position is the specialization of an oncologist in the discipline of Global Oncology.
The doctor is expected to develop to be able to lead cancer control efforts, improve clinical and health results, conducting health economics research, and advocate for the improvement in their health systems upon return to their country of origin. This position will have a salary of u$s 53,000 a year plus health insurance.

III Congreso Chileno de Estudiantes de Medicina (COCEM)

El Congreso es organizado por las Academias Científicas de Estudiantes de Medicina de la Universidad de Chile (ACEM UChile) y de la Pontificia Universidad Católica (ACEM UC).
Nuestro congreso parte el año 2016 como una respuesta a la necesidad de una constante actualización, complemento y refuerzo a la docencia recibida por nuestros compañeros a lo largo del país, buscando reunirlos una vez al año, durante una semana, para tratar aspectos médicos de alto interés nacional. Es así como el 2016 reunimos a alrededor de 600 estudiantes bajo la temática de Investigación en Ciencias Biomédicas, y actualizaciones en Medicina Interna, Pediatría, Neurología, Cardiología, Cirugía, y Ginecoobstetricia, mientras que en nuestra segunda versión reunimos a más de 650 alumnos a aprender sobre Medicina de Urgencias, con módulos de Medicina Interna, Cirugía, y Neuropsiquiatría.
Este año, COCEM 2018 se realizará entre los días 22 al 27 de Julio en Campus San Joaquín de la Pontificia Universidad Católica, y abordará Enfermedades Crónicas y Prevalentes, con cursos modulares de Atención Primaria, Cardiovascular, Oncología y Cuidados Paliativos, y Salud Mental y Enfermedades Neurodegenerativas, esperando convocar a 800 estudiantes de todo el país. Además, dentro de nuestras charlas magistrales, incorporaremos un ciclo llamado “Vanguardia en Medicina”, en donde esperamos invitar a destacados científicos en el área biomédica para que se dirijan a nuestros congresistas, mostrando sus investigaciones en diagnósticos, tratamientos, y descubrimientos que pueden forjar el futuro del ejercicio de la medicina.

III Chilean Congress of Medical Students (COCEM)
July 22-27, 2018 – Campus San Joaquín, Santiago, Chile
The Congress is organized by the Scientific Academies of Medical Students of the University of Chile (ACEM UChile) and the Pontificia Universidad Católica (ACEM UC).
Our congress starts in 2016 as a response to the need for constant updating, complement and reinforcement of the teaching received by our colleagues throughout the country, seeking to gather them once a year, for a week, to treat medical aspects of high national interest. This is how in 2016 we gathered around 600 students under the theme of Research in Biomedical Sciences, and updates in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Neurology, Cardiology, Surgery, and Obstetrics and Gynecology, while in our second version we gathered more than 650 students to learn about Emergency Medicine, with modules of Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Neuropsychiatry.
This year, COCEM 2018 will take place from July 22 to 27 at the San Joaquín Campus of the Pontificia Universidad Católica, and will address Chronic and Prevalent Diseases, with modular courses of Primary Care, Cardiovascular, Oncology and Palliative Care, and Mental Health and Neurodegenerative Diseases, waiting to summon 800 students from all over the country. In addition, within our masterly lectures, we will incorporate a cycle called "Vanguard in Medicine", where we hope to invite leading scientists in the biomedical area to address our congress members, showing their research in diagnostics, treatments, and discoveries that can shape the future of the practice of medicine.

I Simposio ecancer de Cuidados Paliativos
Septiembre 6-7, 2018 – Buenos Aires
Este evento exclusivo sobre Cuidados Paliativos tendrá una duración de dos días y se realizará en la Universidad Católica de Argentina en Buenos Aires los días 6 y 7 de Septiembre.
Este evento reunirá a unos 500 profesionales de la salud para analizar cómo se pueden implementar las mejores prácticas en cuidados paliativos.
El objetivo de la reunión es proporcionar a los delegados una visión general y completa de los temas clave en la atención al final de la vida, así como proporcionar un marco práctico para mejorar la calidad de vida de los pacientes y sus familias cuando los tratamientos curativos ya no son una opción.
Las conversaciones abarcaran todas las opciones de tratamiento, no solo el alivio del dolor, cómo abordar los problemas psicológicos y espirituales, así como las mejores prácticas para organizar un entorno de atención al paciente. La reunión incluirá una sesión dedicada a la enfermería, así como una sesión centrada en el papel del estado en el establecimiento de políticas.

I ecancer Symposium for Palliative Care
September 6-7, 2018 – Buenos Aires
This exclusive event on Palliative Care will last two days and will be held at the Catholic University of Argentina in Buenos Aires on September 6 and 7.
This event will bring together about 500 health professionals to analyze how best practices in palliative care can be implemented.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide delegates with a comprehensive overview of the key issues in end-of-life care, as well as providing a practical framework to improve the quality of life of patients and their families when curative treatments they are no longer an option.
Conversations will cover all treatment options, not just pain relief, how to deal with psychological and spiritual problems, as well as best practices for organizing a patient care environment. The meeting will include a session dedicated to nursing, as well as a session focused on the role of the state in the establishment of policies.

II International ecancer Cancer Congress
September 27-28, 2018 – Santiago, Chile
You are invited to participate in an exclusive two-day oncology meeting, which will be held at the Santiago Hotel, Santiago de Chile, from September 27 to 28.
On this occasion, ecancer will work with the FALP Oncology Institute, the IRAM Clinic, the Viña Oncology Institute, the Pontifical Catholic University and the National Cancer Institute in order to create an event dedicated to exploring the latest research and cutting-edge topics in oncology, radiotherapy and 'global access'.
The objective of this congress is to provide knowledge and bring it closer to new technologies that help it improve the results for its patients.

Está invitado a asistir a la 8ª Conferencia Interamericana de Oncología "Estado Actual y Futuro de las Terapias Contra el Cáncer" que se llevará a cabo en Buenos Aires, Argentina, los días 17 y 18 de octubre de 2019..
Una destacada facultad de oradores de los Estados Unidos y Europa se ha comprometido a participar en esta reunión. La agenda de la conferencia se centrará en los nuevos avances traslacionales en el tratamiento del cáncer, así como también proporcionará actualizaciones de terapias convencionales para varios de los tipos de tumores más comunes.
Los objetivos de la reunión están diseñados para presentar al público la información más reciente sobre terapias dirigidas, inmunoterapias y tratamientos emergentes en el desarrollo temprano. El énfasis principal se centrará en los aspectos clínicos del tratamiento del cáncer en el siglo XXI con la discusión de los avances científicos importantes que subyacen a los enfoques novedosos aún en desarrollo pre clínico.

You are invited to attend the 8th InterAmerican Oncology Conference “Current Status and Future of Anti-Cancer Therapies” that will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 17th and 18th, 2019.
An outstanding faculty of speakers from the United States and Europe has committed to participate in this meeting. The conference agenda will focus on new translational advances in the treatment of cancer as well as provide updates of conventional therapies for a number of the most common tumor types.
The meeting objectives are designed to introduce the audience to the latest information on targeted therapies, immunotherapies, and emerging treatments in early development. The major emphasis will be on clinical aspects of cancer treatment in the 21st century with discussion of significant scientific advances underlying the novel approaches still in preclinical development.

50° SIOP Congreso
Noviembre 16-19, 2018 – Kyoto, Japan
El 50 ° Congreso de la Sociedad Internacional de Oncología Pediátrica (SIOP) se realizará del 16 al 19 de noviembre de 2018 en Kyoto, Japón. Es un gran honor para nosotros ser sede de una conmemoración conmemorativa del 50 aniversario en Japón.
SIOP tiene como objetivo crear un mundo en el que ningún niño muera de cáncer. Durante los últimos 50 años, las tasas de curación de muchos cánceres pediátricos han mejorado en gran medida. Sin embargo, también es cierto que todavía hay muchos niños con cáncer refractario que no pueden curarse o luchar durante un largo tiempo..
SIOP también tiene como objetivo poner a todos los países del mundo bajo el mismo paraguas para que los pacientes puedan recibir los mismos niveles de diagnóstico, tratamiento y cuidado. Tenemos que trabajar juntos para resolver muchos problemas y desafiar así conjuntamente el futuro.
Esperamos que SIOP 2018 en Kyoto sea un punto de inflexión para mejorar aún más las tasas de curación y la atención de niños con cáncer en todo el mundo.

50th SIOP Congress
November 16-19, 2018 – Kyoto, Japan
The 50th Congress of the International Society of Paediatric Oncology (SIOP) will be held in November 16-19, 2018, in Kyoto, Japan. It is a great honor for us to host such a memorial 50th anniversary meeting in Japan.
SIOP aims to make a world that no child should die of cancer. For the last 50 years, the cure rates of many paediatric cancers have largely improved. However, it is also true that there are still many children with refractory cancer who cannot be cured or struggle for a long time.
SIOP also aims to put all countries in the world under the same umbrella for the patients to be able to receive equal levels of diagnosis, treatment and care. We must work together to solve many problems and challenge together for the future.
We hope that SIOP 2018 in Kyoto will be a turning point to further improve the cure rates and care of children with cancer in the whole world.

II Congreso ecancer - Liga Colombiana Contra el Cáncer
Noviembre 29-30, 2018 – Bogotá, Colombia
ecancer y la Liga Colombiana Contra el Cáncer le invitan a participar en la segunda edición de esta exclusiva reunión de dos días sobre oncología, que se realizará en el Centro de Convenciones AR en Bogotá, Colombia, del 29 al 20 de noviembre.
El objetivo del evento es brindarles información actualizada sobre las últimas investigaciones en la práctica clínica para el manejo de los principales tipos de enfermedades. También hay una sesión especial dedicada a temas claves en cuidados paliativos para contribuir con nuevas prácticas en el fin de la vida de los pacientes con cáncer.
La reunión se llevará a cabo en español.
El primer día se divide en tres sesiones que explorarán las últimas investigaciones y los cambios en la práctica clínica para tratar el cáncer de cabeza y cuello, el cáncer gastrointestinal y cuidados paliativos pacientes con cáncer.
El segundo día está dedicado a sesiones sobre inmunoterapia, VPH y cáncer de cuello uterino, pulmón, próstata y cáncer de mama.

ecancer and the Colombian League Against Cancer invite you to participate in the second edition of this exclusive two-day oncology meeting, which will take place at the AR Convention Center in Bogotá, Colombia, from November 29 to 20.
The objective of the event is to provide them with updated information on the latest research in clinical practice for the management of the main types of diseases.
