El International Development and Education Award (IDEA) provee apoyo para oncólogos iniciando su carrera en países de bajo y medianos recursos para  asistir al ASCO Annual Meeting y visitar un centro oncológico en Estados Unidos  o Canadá. Diseñado como el programa de IDEA, IDEA en Cuidados Paliativos está diseñado para aquellos que están interesados en medicina paliativa. Ambos programas proveen educación médica continua, asiste en desarrollo profesional y ayuda a los beneficiarios a establecer fuertes relaciones con miembros líderes de ASCO quienes actúan como mentores científicos.  Además, los beneficiarios reciben 3 años de membresía gratuita de ASCO.  IDEA e IDEA-PC are apoyado por la Conquer Cancer Foundation de la American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Plazos de Solicitud
El period de solicitud IDEA abrió en  Octubre 3, 2016, y el período de solicitud IDEA-PC abrió en Octubre 24, 2016. Ambas solicitudes IDEA e IDEA-PC vencen a las 5 PM ET en Enero 11, 2017.

Award Opportunity for Latin American Oncologists

Oncologists from Latin America Encouraged to Apply for the International Development and Education Award (IDEA) and IDEA in Palliative Care (IDEA-PC)

The International Development and Education Award (IDEA) provides support for early-career oncologists in low- and middle-income countries to attend the ASCO Annual Meeting and visit a cancer center in the United States or Canada. Modeled after the IDEA program, IDEA in Palliative Care is designed for those who are interested in palliative medicine. Both programs provide continuing medical education, assists in career development, and help recipients establish strong relationships with leading ASCO members who serve as scientific mentors. In addition, recipients receive 3 years of complimentary ASCO membership. IDEA and IDEA-PC are supported by the Conquer Cancer Foundation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Application Deadlines
The IDEA application period opens October 3, 2016, and the IDEA-PC application period opens October 24, 2016. Both IDEA and IDEA-PC applications are due by 5 PM ET on January 11, 2017.

Observatorio Latinoamericano del Cáncer

El Observatorio Latinoamericano del Cáncer es un grupo de colaboración que reúne 19 miembros de 9 países y diferentes sectores (médicos, asociaciones de pacientes, instituciones) con el fin de analizar y discutir temas relacionados con el estado del cáncer en la región, y ofrecer recomendaciones para avanzar contra la enfermedad.
El Observatorio surgió de una reunión convocada conjuntamente por la UICC y SLACOM en 2014 en Colombia, en la que se acordaron tres puntos clave de acción prioritaria:

1. Detección temprana de la enfermedad (formación médica y tamizaje)
2. Acceso a tratamientos (mejor acceso y más oportuno)
3. Atención integral (con apoyo multidisciplinario y cuidados paliativos)

Latin American Cancer Observatory (LACO)

The Latin American Cancer Observatory (LACO) is a multi-stakeholder group that gathers 19 members from across nine countries to discuss and analyze topics relevant to cancer in the region, offering recommendations to make progress against the disease. LACO emerged from a meeting jointly convened by UICC and SLACOM in May 2014 in Colombia. On that occasion, its members agreed on three priority areas to improve cancer control in Latin America:

1. Early detection of the disease (medical training and screening)
2. Access to treatment (better and timely access)
3. Holistic care (multidisciplinary support and palliative care)

IX CONGRESO FRANCO-BRASILERO DE ONCOLOGÍA
Noviembre 10-12, 2016 – Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil

La Sociedad Franco-Brasilera de Cáncer en Brasil, la cual organiza sus congresos cada dos años se llevará a cabo en Rio de Janeiro. IX CONGRESS FRANCO BRAZILIAN ONCOLOGY
November 10-12, 2016 – Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

The Brazilian Franco Cancer Society in Brazil, which organizes its congresses every two years will be held in Rio de Janeiro. The French-Brazilian Oncology Congress is now the Brazilian scientific reference in Cancer, the scientific level of programming and international speakers, many of them coming to Brazil exclusively for the Congress.    The IX Congress Franco-Brazilian Oncology has the support of all medical societies in oncology, as well as the official partnership with the Consulate of France in Brazil and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Congreso Oncológico de ecancer/Liga Colombiana contra el cáncer
Noviembre 17-18, 2016 – Bogotá, Colombia

En nombre de ecancer y de La Liga Colombiana contra el cáncer, es un gran placer y un honor extenderles una cálida invitación para asistir al “Congreso Oncológico de ecancer/Liga Colombiana contra el cáncer”  el cual tomará lugar los días 17 y 18 de noviembre del 2016, en la ciudad de Bogotá, Colombia.
El Congreso se concentrará en los últimos avances en Oncología incluyendo módulos en Cáncer Gastrointestinal, Ginecológico, mamas, próstata, pulmón y cuidados paliativos. En el marco del evento también se dictará un curso en Radioterapia.

November 17-18, 2016 – Bogota, Colombia

On behalf of ecancer and the Colombian League Against Cancer, it is a great pleasure and an honor to warmly invite you to attend the “ecancer Oncology Congress/ Colombian League Against Cancer” to take place on November 17 and 18 of 2016, in the city of Bogota, Colombia.

LAPSG está feliz de albergar la 21ª reunión de la Asociación Internacional de Pancreatología en Buenos Aires durante Septiembre 28-30, 2017. Esta reunión IAP se realiza en Sudamérica por Segunda vez desde 1984 (IAP 1986 se realizó en Sao Paulo), y es la 1ª Reunión Conjunta IAP/LAPSG.
Páncreas 2017 se basa en destacados oradores invitados durante la reunión principal (Septiembre 29-30) y en dos workshops interactivos (Septiembre 28). El programa científicos de Pancreas 2017 consta de un amplio enfoque a todos los aspectos relacionados a la pancreatología.
